DPF cleaning
Diesel particulate filter cleaning instead of an expensive new one. We remove the filter, it is cleaned on a dedicated machine and we refit it — about two days in total.

The diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps soot from a diesel engine and burns it off while you drive. On short city trips the regeneration cannot finish, the filter clogs and the engine goes into limp mode. Ash that regeneration cannot burn can only be removed by cleaning.
First we use diagnostics to confirm the problem really is the filter, not the pressure sensor or an engine fault producing the soot. We then remove the filter and our partner cleans it on a dedicated cleaning machine. We collect it the next day and refit it, so the car stays with us for about two days.

What people ask
How long does cleaning take?
About two days. We remove the filter and take it to our partner with the cleaning machine, then collect it the next day and refit it.
Is a new filter not better?
A new filter is usually much more expensive. If the filter is not physically damaged — cracked or melted — cleaning restores its flow. If it is damaged, we tell you before any cleaning starts.
Will the filter last after cleaning?
If city driving clogged it, it will last a long time again. If a faulty injector, EGR valve or turbo is producing the soot, it will clog again — which is why we look for the cause first.
